The African Women’s Organisation (AWO), whose Headquarters are in Vienna (Austria), is provided with a Counselling Centre for African women and girls with the main aim to prevent and eradicate FGM and other harmful practices. Further areas of work of the organization are integration, housing of immigrants, health, women empowerment and prevention of human trafficking. AWO produces teaching material, organizes training sessions, workshops and conferences, and attends and talks in national and international conferences, symposiums and meetings on topics involved with the welfare of women and immigrants.
